On Saturday, Nov. 15, 2003 we had a street cleanup campaign. We collected 13 bags of trash
and a few other items from 7 streets. Many of you may have seen the pile at the front of
the neighborhood. We are asking each person to do their part to help keep our neighborhood
and streets clean. This is one item that will greatly help keep our property values up.
1. Take a few minutes and pick up any trash in your front yard and street.
2. Please stop throwing trash from your vehicles.
We would like to thank the people that help with the cleanup. Craig Dyer, Trina Williams,
Kathleen Hamawi, Sue Ireland, Ruth Ball, and Tim Hess.
Below is a picture of the trash we picked up.
WHAT: Community Cleanup Campaign
WHEN: Saturday, Nov. 15, 2003 9:00 A.M. WEATHER PERMITTING
WHERE: Meet on the corner of Sandybrook and Access Road
GOAL: To make our community a little nicer to live in
BRING: TRASH BAGS, GLOVES, RAKES, WHEELBARROW, ROLLING
TRASH CANS, scoopers AND ANYTHING ELSE you
can THINK OF TO MAKE THIS A LITTLE EASIER
I do not expect us to be able to pick up the litter all the way through the neighborhood in
one day. If there are any volunteers to start during the week before, please contact me. I
appreciate all of you who have responded to my first email and am looking forward to meeting
those of you who I have not already met. I am planning on posting a sign at the entrance to
the property to notify all residents of this effort. Hopefully, some of them will show.
We will be able to contact Waste Management for a pick up after the trash is collected. It
all needs to be in one place. I need a volunteer or two who will be willing to gather-up
and take the bags to the front in a pick-up. Anyone willing?
Do we want to start at the back and work towards the front or do we want to start at the
front and work our way back? Personally, from what I have seen, the front of the
neighborhood looks worse than the back does. If this helps in the thought process, I am
hoping we will be able to spit up into 4-man teams, one per street, and move thru the
neighborhood more quickly. There really IS a plan! Any ideas here?
Thanks a bunch
